Xavi Brings Back Glory Days: Barcelona Beat Espanyol 4-2 To Win La Liga

Club Legend Xavi Hernández on Sunday recreated the glory days when his Barcelona side beat Espanyol 4-2 to win the coveted La Liga title for the first time since 2019.

Former player Xavi became first team manager for Barcelona in November 2021, when the team was struggling to find any form.

Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski scored a brace, while Alejandro Balde Martinez and Jules Kounde contributed a goal each.

The home side scored two goals from Javi Puado and Joselu.

“We suffered a lot, both on the pitch and off,” Xavi said after the victory.

Barcelona moved to 85 points from 34 matches and extended their lead at the summit to an unassailable 14 points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid.

However, while celebrating the amazing feat, Espanyol fans ran onto the field and chased the Barcelona players.
