Cape Town – Australia won the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup against South Africa on Sunday by 19 runs.
Australia set the target of 156 and lost 6 wickets in the process.
For a while it seemed South Africa would be able to reach the target, with Springbok Skipper Siyamthanda Kolisi among the cheering fans in the packed stadium.
Laura Wolvaardt’s 61 runs sparked excitement and belief among local fans at Newlands, but in the end South Africa fell short of the target.
South Africa only managed 137/6.
