Giyani – The police in Giyani are appealing to the public to help find missing 17-year-old Hlamalani “Hlamie” Chauke, from Mapayeni village in Limpopo.

The police said they had already begun searching for Hlamalani “following her disappearance last week on Saturday (24 September 2022)”. But had not yet found her.

“The victim went missing while attending the unveiling of a tombstone celebration in the company of her mother at Vuhehli village who gave her money to purchase some items at a nearby shop,” said the police in a statement issued by Sergeant Monatse Mamabolo at the weekend.

“Unfortunately, she never returned and has since disappeared and was allegedly last seen in the evening at Holobye Resort Complex with a male individual believed to be residing at Siyandhani village.

“The victim’s mother tried to contact her over the cellphone and she informed her that she is at Siyandhani village but does not know the exact place and her phone was later on voicemail until she was reported missing today on Saturday (1 October 2022).”

The police said efforts to locate the victim at her known relatives and friends “were not fruitful”.

There was no clear description of the type of clothes she wore when she was last seen.

The statement said police were continuing with the search for the missing teenager.

Anyone with information that can help to reunite the missing teenager with her family is urged to contact the Investigating Officer, Warrant Officer Minyuku on 0827290326 or crime stop number 0860010111 or the nearest police station or My SAPSApp.
