Emergency responders freed a trapped worker after an unfinished building collapsed onto him and three other workers on a construction site in the Olifantsfontein area, in Johannesburg.
Emer-G-Med said paramedics were called to the site of the building collapse on Saturday.
“Reports from the scene are that four men were left injured, one seriously so, after the structure they were building collapsed on top of them,” said Emer-G-Med.
“A man in his fifties was found pinned under the rubble.
“With the assistance of the Tshwane Fire Department a lengthy extrication process took place to free the man whilst Emergency Care Practitioners worked to stabilise him.
“Once free he was transported rapidly by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care.”
