Munsoft, the home-grown leader in the development, deployment and maintenance of municipal financial management software, has donated uniforms to schoolchildren in the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality, in KwaZulu-Natal.
The handover was part of a Mayoral Imbizo hosted by Mayor Mduduzi Myeza, on Friday 17 June 2022, at the Estcourt Town Hall.
Munsoft currently provides financial management software and related services to more than 70 municipalities around South Africa and is committed to supporting and helping the communities in which it operates, as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
“The donation of school uniforms is one of several Munsoft-led investments in communities across the KwaZulu-Natal province. Recently, the company funded and distributed several food parcels to some of the most vulnerable communities in the province,” said Ndiafhi Rerani at Munsoft.
“It is fitting that we have donated school uniforms at the Mayoral Imbizo during this period where the focus is around the development of our youth.
“The mayor has deliberately invited the youth to attend the event and engage with the leadership of the municipality on how best to address their concerns through various youth development programmes.”
Ndiafhi Rerani said Munsoft is particularly keen to support educational initiatives, as the company’s core business is the development of intellectual capital and thus puts a high premium on encouraging the youth to prioritise education in order to better themselves and escape poverty.
“This is but one of many interventions that we are planning to make in this area. We want to do a lot more for the communities here in KwaZulu-Natal, especially in the rural communities that are often severely underserviced,” Ndiafhi Rerani said.
