The Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain was shot dead at his singer girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s mom’s house in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni. Meyiwa as only 27 years old when he was killed.

The trial was set to start, after the defence lawyer for accused number 5, Ntuli, asked for a one-day postponement on Monday.

The state did not oppose the request for postponement, however, it pointed out to the court that it was in the best interest of society that the matter is finalised.
The judge granted the requested postponement, but warned it would be the last time delays would be entertained, because he also needed to consider the rights of the deceased’s family.
The trial is set for Friday next week, 22 April 2022.
