For the second time this week murder accused Ziphozethu Shange, who was allegedly found on his PlayStation while his girlfriend 25-year-old Ntwentle Sanelisiwe Sibiya lay dead next to the couch, has requested that his bail hearing be postponed.

Shange was initially expected to apply for bail in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday but was granted a postponement to Friday.

However, on Friday the matter was again postponed to the beginning of next month.

The accused remains in custody.

Baepi Attorneys are keeping a watching brief for the Sibiya family.

Meanwhile, Ntwentle was laid to rest on Saturday.

Her sister Zinhle Tenza, who lives in Pietermaritzburg, said she was still grieving and could not attend Friday’s court hearing.

“The State was ready to proceed but again an arrangement was made for the matter to be postponed to 1 March,” said Zinhle.

“I don’t know what could be the reason for requesting to postpone on the side of the accused.”
