What started as boastful claims of “conquests” of “gullible women” may soon see television host Jub Jub – whose real name is Molemo Maarohanye – face criminal charges of rape.
In this period of 16 days of activism against the abuse of women and children, Jub Jub’s careless talk that degraded women – some of whom he named – was bound to raise the ire of many.
Jub Jub made his offensive comments earlier this week on Podcast and Chill hosted by MacG (Macgyver Mukwevho).
In the ensuing social media backlash, female actor Amanda du Pont posted a video in which she alleged 41-year-old Jub Jub had raped her. She also asked for help to lay criminal charges against Maarohanye.
Soon after former Metro FM presenter Mashechaba Khumalo, also alleged Jub Jub had raped her.
By Thursday, Moja Love the digital satellite television “female-skewed” channel on DSTV moved to suspend Jub Jub the host of Uyajola 9/9.
On Saturday, a lawyer acting for Du Pont said three more women had come forward alleging that Jub Jub had raped them.
Lawyer Tony Mathe said his client was now preparing to press rape charges against Jub Jub, who has since gone to ground.
