UB40 Founder Astro Dies After Short Illness

UB40 founding member Astro – whose real name was Terence Wilson – has died after an undisclosed short illness at the age of 64.

He had been with the popular British reggae band for about 30 years.

UB40 was formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England, and enjoyed worldwide success selling more than 100 million albums featuring hits such as Red Red Wine and (I Can’t Help) Falling in Love with You.

“We are absolutely devastated and completely heartbroken to have to tell you that our beloved Astro has today passed away after a very short illness,” said Ali Campbell on Twitter

“The world will never be the same without him. 

“We ask you to please respect his family’s privacy at this incredibly difficult time.”
