Police in Gauteng on Friday received a fleet of new cars from Premier David Makhura.
Makhura was accompanied by MEC Faith Mazibuko, National Commissioner General Sithole, and Provincial Commissioner General Mawela at the Gauteng Safer Festive Launch Event in Stinkwater.
The launch was a declaration by the Gauteng provincial government’s state of readiness to combat crime during the festive season.
The premier handed over 23 vehicles to the FCS Units in Gauteng, including 15 BWM’s to the Gauteng Highway Patrol and 11 sedans to the victim support centres of the GBV Hotspot Police Stations.
One mobile CSC was also handed over to the station commander of Themba.
The vehicles are bought by the Gauteng government.
