Eskom Suspends Load-Shedding, Enough Reserves

Eskom has announced that it is suspending load-shedding from Friday at 8 pm because “generation capacity has sufficiently recovered”.

“Over the past 24 hours Eskom teams have returned three generation units to service,” said the power utility.

“A unit each at Majuba, Arnot, and Tutuka power stations have returned to service allowing further replenishment of emergency generation reserves to acceptable levels.”

Although load-shedding was being suspended, the power utility requested the public to continue using electricity sparingly.

Eskom apologised “for the inconvenience caused” to the people of South Africa, particularly the education fraternity which had to deal with load-shedding while sitting for Matric exams.
