General Colin Powell Succumbs To Covid-19

ABC News is reporting that former US Secretary of State and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Colin Powell, died Monday morning due to complications from Covid-19, his family said in a statement.

“He was fully vaccinated. We want to thank the medical staff at Walter Reed National Medical Center for their caring treatment,” the family was quoted of saying by ABC News about the 84-year-old four star general.

 “We have lost a remarkable and loving husband, father, grandfather and a great American.”

After he retired Powell called his controversial role in making the case that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction before the US invasion, was a “blot” on his record.
