Jailbreak: Bangladeshi, 3 Locals On The Run

A Bangladesh national arrested for murder is one of four dangerous prisoners who broke out of jail on Sunday night and escaped into the darkness.

The 29-year-old Bangladeshi named as Mohammed Nassir is accused of a murder that occurred in January this year. The other three escapees were awaiting trial for serious and violent crimes.

Police in Mahwelereng, outside Mokopane, on Tuesday, said they launched a manhunt for the four awaiting trial prisoners as soon as they became aware of the jailbreak.

The quartet escaped from police cells on Sunday at about 9 pm.

Police said they were alerted by other inmates about the escape and immediately launched a manhunt.

Although the three other escapees have not been named, police warned the public not to attempt to arrest them.

They should instead report to the police any information they may have about the escapees.

Police said anyone with relevant information should call Lieutenant Colonel Sekanka on 082565 8505 or crime stop number 0860010111 or the nearest police or MySAPSApp.
