The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) on Friday announced that it has appointed the party’s former treasurer general, Leigh-Ann Mathys, as its elections spokesperson.
“This decision comes as a result of careful consideration and understanding that the coming elections program will need additional support in the communications department of the organisation,” said the EFF
“Commissar Leigh-Ann Mathys is highly skilled and carries with her a wealth of experience, commitment and dedication to the organisation, while carrying the necessary organisational memory to effectively and competently communicate on its behalf.
“Furthermore, the EFF has resolved to appoint Karabo Metsileng as an elections communications manager for this period as well, to beef up the communications department in the electoral war to come.
“Karabo Metsileng has a background in communications and is highly qualified for the task at hand.”
The EFF said its communications department remains intact and will be bolstered by the additions that have been made.
“The necessary communication will be made to all elections structures in due course and all commissars, Fighters and structures are expected to co-operate with all the needs that may arise to ease the work of the communications department,” said the EFF.
“We wish Commissar Leigh-Ann Mathys and Fighter Karabo Metsileng well in their new responsibilities and have full confidence that they will perform to the best of their abilities.”
