Football Manager Gareth Southgate has trimmed his England squad for the Euro 2020 tournament to only 26 players down from the 33 he initially picked.
Young Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka made the cut, but there was no place for Jessey Lingard, whose recent form at West Ham has impressed many.
So impressive has been his game, parent team Manchester United are said to be considering bringing Lingard back.
Lingard is among the seven players cut from the provisional 33-man party.
Manchester United teammate Mason Greenwood is out through injury, Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins wasn’t selected.
Everton centre-back Ben Godfrey, Brighton defender Ben White, Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse, and Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale were also left out.
Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold made it despite reports he would be dropped.
The Three Lions opening game in EURO 2020 is against Croatia on Sunday 13 June.
